At 1718, we create bespoke furniture of distinction. From our meticulous designs, to the fine woods and finishes we select, to the outstanding craftsmanship that brings our hand-made furniture to life, the beauty lies in the detail.
Led by Michael and Susan Mancini, we celebrate the natural beauty of Scotland, the family values of our Italian heritage, the outstanding qualities of British craftsmanship, and the designs of inspirational characters such as Thomas Chippendale and Sir Edwin Lutyens.
Our team has a deserved reputation for the pursuit of perfection, carefully creating timeless pieces for our clients to treasure.
Whether it’s a private commission to bring your personal idea to life, a corporate brief to meet a detailed specification, or a request from a public body to restore an architecturally sensitive interior, we offer the expertise and creativity to surpass your expectations.
Our team, inspired by the family values of our founders Michael and Susan Mancini, takes immense pride in the expressions of delight and amazement when clients unveil a commission for the first time. We are here for you every step of the way, from the initial drawings, through the design and construction, to the delivery and fitting of the finished furniture.Discover more
Over several years, the team has created a stunning portfolio of work for private clients, interior designers and architects, in the style of both Thomas Chippendale and Sir Edward Lutyens, as well as contemporary designs. We’ve also hand-built and carved just about every imaginable type of furniture, from home staples such as chairs, dining tables, desks and beds, to games tables, tea trolleys, wine rooms and home entertainment centres. Every piece is unique and 100% bespoke to our clients’ requests.
We’re based in Ayrshire in Scotland but our work can be found across the world in private homes, country estates, heritage buildings and corporate headquarters. We create bespoke furniture that is both practical and strikingly beautiful, from the elegantly traditional to the wonderfully idiosyncratic. Everything we create is made with love and an extraordinary eye for detail.
