The perfumier’s beautiful space

When James Atkinson founded his perfume house in 1799, he soon became known as high society’s perfumier of choice, with clients such as Queen Victoria and Napoleon. And after the Atkinsons brand relaunch in 2013, we were commissioned to create the furniture that now graces the company’s flagship store in London’s Burlington Arcade.

Designed by the acclaimed Christopher Jenner, the two elegantly-curved, beech-framed sofas required exacting work, but the stunning finish made all the attention to detail worthwhile. The brass feet, and the distressed copper used across the accompanying cabinets and chairs, also offer eye-catching details.

One of the most striking aspects of the collection is the bold collision of colours that only a designer as talented as Christopher would even think of. Combined with our team’s exquisite skills, the project has created an extraordinarily beautiful space for customers to explore the world of Atkinsons perfumes.

Christopher Jenner: “It took exemplary craftsmanship to bring my designs to life. 1718 were a joy to work with.”
